What is a managed fund?

Like many people, you probably feel financial markets are complex and require considerable expertise to handle. The Public Trustee Investment Fund comprises seven unit trusts, set up to enable you to spread your investment across a range of products, in order to assist you to achieve your financial goals.

A unit trust is a fund where an investor, known as a unitholder, pools funds with a large number of investors. A professional fund manager decides which assets to buy. The price of the units will vary according to movements in the underlying value of the investments. The value of the units in the fund is calculated daily and income is distributed quarterly.

Through The Public Trustee, you can invest in funds which have Australian and International investments. The range is diverse so the funds can meet a variety of needs, including investments offering both growth and income.

Our Investment Manager is Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) which is owned by the Queensland Government. It is one of the ten largest wholesale fund managers in Australia.
