Announcing the release of the Community Advocacy and Education 2022-24 Report

At Queensland Public Trustee (QPT), we take pride in being a value for money, independent state trustee service dedicated to advancing the rights, interests and wishes of Queenslanders in need of financial management, estate and trust administration, services and support.

Community education and raising awareness of Will and enduring power of attorney documents is also an important part of our social responsibility charter.

By placing a stronger emphasis on improving how we engage with our customers and their support networks, our stakeholders and the broader community are supporting us to deliver a more consistent and transparent approach to meeting the needs of our diverse customers.

This report highlights community focused initiatives and engagement programs that have educated Queenslanders and diverse communities about the importance of Will and enduring power of attorney documents, while also raising awareness of financial abuse.

The report also highlights QPT’s Customers First Strategy, demonstrating how it has been upheld through engagement with urban, regional, rural and remote communities, as well as the benefits these communities receive from philanthropic giving and the charitable trusts for which we act as trustee.

Providing information on preventative measures to safeguard against financial elder abuse and financial fraud is part of our ongoing agenda, as can been seen in Joan’s story shared as a case study. Joan’s story is an inspiring example of what can be achieved by our customers when someone works alongside them to inform them of their financial rights and clarify the role of an Enduring Power of Attorney.

At QPT, we know charitable giving can make a real difference in people’s lives. We act as trustee for five prominent philanthropic charitable trusts that provide support to the Queensland community, with over $15.5 million distributed in funding from 2022 to 2024.

Our Customer Advocacy and Education 2022-2022 Report shines the light on one of these charitable trusts – the Lady Bowen Trust. During 2022 to 2024, QPT distributed $403,745 of funding to 30 homelessness frontline support services on behalf of Lady Bowen Trust.

Discover how we're positively impacting vulnerable Queenslanders through engagement in urban, regional, rural and remote communities and how we're continually striving to put our customers first!
