Benefiting the broader community
Charitable trusts are created to hold funds or assets that can be used to carry out activities that benefit the broader community such as:
- relieving poverty
- advancing education
- medical research
- religious purposes.
A charitable trust operates for as long as there is trust capital or income and can be created through a Will.
When you make a Will, you may wish to provide a long-term benefit to a charity by providing income from your estate. This can be an alternative to giving an immediate gift.
Charitable trusts administered by QPT
Queensland Public Trustee is trustee for several leading philanthropic charitable trusts in Queensland. If you wish you could provide for one of the following in your Will.
Queensland Gives
Queensland Gives provides a permanent source of philanthropic funding for charitable organisations in Queensland through a perpetual fund. The trust provides funding and grants to grass roots causes that benefit a range of communities throughout the state.
