PT real estate auctions are back!

6 April 2021

The Public Trustee’s real estate auctions are back as COVID-19 restrictions ease and the state government’s ban on public open homes and on-site auctions is lifted.

Property Director, Joanne Edsor said the next round of Public Trustee auctions will commence from 27 July with inspections starting 13 July, coinciding with Stage Three of the lifting of restrictions in Queensland.

“This is a great sign and we hope the launch of public auctions and open homes will bring plenty of confidence and optimism back to the market,” Ms Edsor said.

“Community safety remains our top priority so all open homes and auctions will be managed in accordance with maintaining a COVID-19 safe environment.”

“This includes enforcing social distancing and limiting the amount of people in enclosed spaces, and providing sanitisation stations onsite. We encourage people to let us know prior to the day if they are attending open homes and auctions and everyone who turns up on the day will be required to register.”

Ms Edsor said the Public Trustee has been adaptable in transitioning to COVID-safe practices, continuing to sell customer properties during the pandemic via Expression of Interest (EOI), private treaty, or by partnering with other real estate agents to provide on-line auctions.

“The enormous support we receive from Queenslanders for our real estate services has made it possible for our team to continue helping customers during this time,” she said.

“Regional and South East Queensland sales have continued with minimal disruptions since the pandemic began, with the Public Trustee’s real estate sales program having sold $123M worth of real estate across Queensland for customers this financial year.

“We currently have a large selection of properties for sale across the State and these are being actively marketed,” she said. “Now that auctions are back, customers can still choose to sell their property by private treaty if they wish.

“You can find properties for sale on our website or alternatively, anyone can sign up to receive our regular property email alerts.”
