This month, the Public Trustee's new National Redress Unit became fully operational, offering support to customers who are thinking about applying for redress. This is an important initiative supporting the dignity and rights of our customers, and assisting them during what may be a difficult time. The Public Trustee is encouraging all Queenslanders to keep an eye out for potential financial abuse. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, seniors are at greater risk of elder abuse due to increased isolation, and some Queensland regions are displaying concerning data as identified by the Elder Abuse Hotline.
