Queenslanders encouraged to have their say on fees and charges

28 July 2021

The Public Trustee is inviting the public to participate in consultation for their independent fees and charges review.

Mr Zhouand said that the independent review is an important step in ensuring that the fees and charges of the Public Trustee are fair, transparent and accessible for all Queenslanders.

“As part of an extensive review of our fees and charges, the public are being asked for their opinion,” Mr Zhouand said.

“This consultation is critical in ensuring that the public have their opinions heard and implemented throughout this pivotal fees and charges review.

“The Public Trustee provides essential services to Queenslanders, many of whom are experiencing vulnerability. Protecting Queenslanders, especially those experiencing vulnerability, is our priority,” Mr Zhouand said.

The Public Trustee provides financial management services to more than 10,000 Queenslanders each year, including more than 9,300 people under an administration appointment by the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

The review is the most comprehensive in more than two decades and is an important step towards becoming a more customer-centric organisation.

“The review of the fees and charges is a major undertaking which is expected to have significant benefits to customers, including an easier to understand fee model

“Hearing from our customers, their support networks and our stakeholders is vital to developing a fees and charges model which is fit for purpose and meets the needs of our customers”, Mr Zhouand said.

The Public Trustee has partnered with PwC to lead the independent review.

The first round of consultation is open now until 13 August 2021. Further consultation on the fees and charges model will occur later in 2021.
